I dislike my GE refrigerator immensely

1. Within the first year, the gaskets of the refrigerator and freezer were pulling away. Kiefer appliances, reputable appliance company in Landsdale, Pa, whom we bought all of our monogram appliances including this refrigerator from, sent one of their service people to glue them back on. Now after speaking to a person who has worked for GE for 32 years. He said that should™€™ve never happened. Caskets get replaced not glued. 2. Also, within the first year, the motor would start suddenly revving up and then stop and the noise was loud and obnoxious. This went on sporadically and we had our local repair company. Take a look at it. Couldn™€™t find anything wrong. 3. Two weeks after the three-year warranty was up, the ice maker stopped working so we had that replaced along with the DC evaporator fan and the gaskets needed to be replaced because once again they were pulling off. 4. Over $1,200 later I thought our problems were over™€¦. nope three weeks ago I woke up in the morning to start planning for my father™€™s 80th birthday party at my house, refrigerator and freezer stop working. Everything in there was spoiled hundreds of dollars worth of food thrown away. Fortunately, we have an older KitchenAid refrigerator in the garage that we had to move everything to. 5. The next day it was back on. 6. Two weeks later, it starts revving back up, the sound is obnoxious that my parents who live upstairs from us could hear it. 7. So I contact keifer appliances once again and they send out a GE specialist who couldn™€™t do a thing because the noise as stopped when he was here. 8. Last night before I went to bed I told my husband it was not feeling cold enough in the refrigerator so we let it go to see what happens today and sure enough this morning refrigerator temperature on the panel says 34. I took the temperature of the milk and soup -both were holding at 60° overnight. 9. It™€™s time™€¦ and I™€™m ready to fight the fight. We™€™ve been inconvenienced for three years with this appliance. I need to know what you will do for us. 10. It™€™s starting again, we haven™€™t had ice for 5 days, I use the hairdryer to defrost the line like the last service person told me, to no avail. I HATE THIS APPLIANCES!

First of all My refrigerator Door cannot open all the way The drawers cannot open all the way. It hits on the rubber of the door. The worst part is that the water taste bad the ice taste bad even though I had dumped it and dumped it and dumped it. For a $12,000 refrigerator it should be better than that. Then I see that you want to sell filters, What about the filter that came with it? Is something wrong with this refrigerator?

Think Twice Before Purchasing!

At 68yrs old, I've had a few refrigerators in my time. Never in a million years would I have thought to pay very close to $14,000.00 for a unit which is as noisy as this unit is. To add insult to injury...Everyone is telling us "noise is normal". In my view... Not for $14 Grand it isn't! Dealing with the retailer is like playing Whack-A-Mole, with so many people in several different departments communicating in the same email chain. To their credit... they did send a technician out initially to look at the unit. He told us the compressor was the problem. (Not sure if he was with Bodewell or a third-party the retailer deals with) Even advised the retailer that if this situation cannot be remedied, we would expect a new unit to be delivered and installed, or a comparable unit with the same cabinet specifications. The retailer completely ignored that statement. The Bodewell Technician comes out (an awesome guy) and replaces two parts in the freezer and an hour later... it's back to serenading us with the humming and the vibration noise, sounds which have been ongoing since 6 hours after the actual installation on June 11th!! Still... no one considers the compressor could be the issue and also ignore the idea that this could be a problem with the installation. So fed up with this saga! If I could import the videos I've taken to record the noise I would! Guess it's time to climb the escalator up to CEO Adrian Micu and Senior VP of Sales and Marketing John Homlish!

Huge letdown for HUGE price

Nightmare! Would give Zero stars if I could. Previous version lasted 17years so we bought this new version. Condensation on freezer and refrigerator gasket dripping onto our wood floors. Bodewell has come out 7 times. Changed the gaskets, blow dried the gaskets - finally called technical team and it was deemed irreparable. Replaced with brand new refrigerator. This time we were vigilant to look out for problems. After a week SAME EXACT issue. We purchased original refrigerator late November and noticed the dripping in January and still no resolve. Monogram Concierge team has been helpful but we will be having our 8th visit to diagnose soon.

The refrigerator is only a month old, so it™€™s still too early to judge the refrigerator™€™s durability. However, the features are nice and seem roomier than its predecessor. One complaint Is in regard to the refrigerator and freezer doors that need opened to full extent in order to pull out the drawers of each compartment.

It does form ice quickly. We ordered the unit because our last unit was a monogram and we wanted to make sure the unit fit correctly n the available space. Pricey - we hope it lasts a long time. Fabulous product - just beautiful and will last a long time (just replaced a 30-year-old Monogram that went through a hurricane and still worked its heart out)! This is definitely an upgrade, and we believe it will outlast us. G.E. has been wonderful!! This is our second "new" refrigerator - the first one didn't entirely work. GE tried everything to fix it, then they sent us another one and installed it. Great service. Poor quality control. Rusted rails on new fridge, leaked water? GE service came out quickly, no parts, ordered wrong parts, coming again. GE did send us another, new fridge. Same issues with rust, and now a squealy fan of some sort. Service coming back out. Our other Monogram appliances have been great. But not what I would expect for their luxury product line.

Terrible product design as I had to change the ice maker bunch of times and the fan freezer replacement multiple times. This product is no way near the lineup of Lexus car, but more like a cheap car that breaks down all the time. I would never spend 10K on a Fridge again that breaks down all the time.

Overall, Very pleased with our new replacement GE Monogram 42" Built in Refrigerator with Dispensor. Our original fridge finally gave out after 23 years and needed replacement. Online ordering with a phone call to customer service to ensure we chose all the correct & complete options including delivery, removal, changing water hose lines, install, and removal was very helpful. the installation was delayed by a couple days but wasnt a big deal. The delivery and install went very well. the 2 man work crew were very careful in all the work done that day. We had to remove the water dispensor filter and install the bypass becuase we recently installed an RO under sink water filter. Everything has run smoothly since the installation and we're very happy. Would highly recommend

Best Buy Backed Monogram Built in High in Refrig

Unfortunately the first refrigerator was jinx from the get go. First came without handles waited another week for the. Then the dispenser panel had a short and when replace went out again. Dealt with product issues for at least a month. Fortunately Terry Pearson at Best Buy made the whole situation worthwhile since we got another brand new refrigerator to replace the initial purchase. Now everything is working perfectly thanks to getting another brand new one. I think the original one was made during the COVID without the expertise needed to build it. But we are happy campers now with our replacement thanks to Terry Pearson taking care of our concerns to get it right for us as his customer. Kudos to Terry and Best Buy for hiring a customer oriented manager who stood by his customers who bought a high end product that should of worked the first time without any problems. Best Buy also gave us credit for being understanding customers as well to make things right during our inconvenience and once again Terry Pearson initiated all these efforts in trying to make up for all the inconvenience. Very nice but a couple of issues

The refrigerator is beautiful, well designed and easy to access. The lighting is very good as well. There is a plastic taste to the water and ice, after having the appliance for a month it has not gotten any better. There™€™s also a very sharp edge on the frame to the water and ice dispenser, which I cut myself on pretty badly the first couple of days after we installed it. I have spoken to the appliance company we purchased it from, who spoke to the GE rep and still no resolution.

Design and form are excellent. Nice easy access to the filter, when needed. It is a bit noisy at times. 1 cubic foot smaller than my previous Monogram. Excellent bright light in both the fridge and freezer.

Perfect Fit

The refridge unit is very nice fit perfectly into an existing space to replace an older refrig the lasted 18 years. The only downside was that the water filter needed to be replaced as the taste was terrible and the water dispenser continues to drip. Will likely need service to correct it.

I like the ruggedness of the draws, shelves. The water feature on the front door is very slow and disappointing, there is a brand new filter in and its still slow.

Good Replacement

We replaced our 19 year old Monogram with this new one. Got 19 years out of the first one and we knew it would be a perfect fit into the cabinet opening. Our previous unit, the digital temperature display showed actual temperature and if you changed the setting, it displayed the setting for 5 seconds then to actual temperature. After installing the new unit, we realized the display only shows SET temperature. We contacted the salesman and he thought the SmartHome app would indicate actual temperature. We installed the app but found out it displays set temperature too, not actual. Sad to get to know actual temperature in a $10k unit we had to buy a $6 thermometer to put on the shelf. Unit is also very noisy. We have a vibration from around the compressor that can be heard in the living room. The unit fit perfectly in the cabinet, the salesman and install team were amazing. But only 3 stars because I can™€™t see actual temperatures and it™€™s noisy.

Nightmare of appliane

This is our second monogram 42 inch built in refrigerator The first one gave us all sort of problems, good thing we bought the protection plan, and got it replaced. Aftter two and an half weeks with out a refrigerator. Our second one arrived on the 20th of February. Seems we will have another nightmare. From the ice and water dispenser cold air is coming out. We called for a technician to come and see the unit. I added a picture showing condensation

This is our 2nd GE Mongram refrigerator. The first one lasted 33 years!! LOVE the lighting (very bright) on the fridge side and the 3 drawers! Not thrilled with the water dispenser. The water is dispensed to the front of the glass, not in the middle as it should be. Also, the lighting in the freezer is not that great. Other than these 2 things, we LOVE this refrigerator!
