Overall I love my new side by side. The two things I don't care for is 1) There is no snack or deli drawer. In the GE profile side by side that this replaced this option was used for cheese and lunchmeat and we loved it. 2) The door bin "A" shows being installed high above the ice maker in the instructions #225D3791P163; however, the slides to attach it are located at the bottom of the top section of the freezer compartment. When you install it there it hits against the icemaker and the door won't close.

Good Side-by-Side Refrigerator

We received the GE Side by Side Refrigerator 6 days ago. We have been happy with the refrigerator's performance and features. Unfortunately, the delivery via Home Depot's Team was a disaster. They refused to use a hand truck and moved into our home by carrying it with a harness. I protested and the 2 delivery man ignored my demand. As such, they banged the outer shell which resulted in 3 cosmetic dents. They had already removed our old refrigerator. Due to my medical needs I need a refrigerator. I called Home Depot's delivery hot line and they offered me a partial refund to my purchase. I give the GE Appliance a 5 Star and Home Depot a 1 Star.

Water dispenser filter red light issue

The red filter light goes off when I try to get water from the door. The filter came with the fridge and is only 5 days old. Water will not dispense from the door when the red filter light is on. Which means the water dispenser is currently useless.

Fit and finish is only average. Gaps around the control display and water/ice dispenser. Ordered through big box store and was delivered a similar but different model number expected a GPWW and got a GPFCWW. The store and it's GE contact could not describe the differences between the models. No outward appearance differences, so accepted the 2nd unit. I guess that's common? Noisy icemaker. Freezer door shelves narrower than expected. Keeps temperature well. Fits within my space well.

Because of space limitations, this model replaced basically same GE model. Miss the mid level slide out deli tray for small items old model had. Side light in refrigerator improvement over older model. An identical side light on freezer side would be an improvement. A compact LED light and water filter increased top shelf space.

After a few weeks with this refrigerator I now know enough to give a fair review. The new refrigerator needed to fit in an existing kitchen. There were only tree choices and we felt that GE was the best of them. THE GOOD: It appears that the temperature control is very accurate. Noise level is low. The top hinges stick up very little (5/8 inch) which helps with cabinet placement above. The ice dispenser works well. THE MEDIOCRE: Lighting is good in the front, but you can't see much on the back of shelves. Shelves are not spill proof. Nice temperature display, however it is there for 8 seconds and then turns off. There should be an option to keep the display on all the time. The capacity is decent but there are not enough shelves. The fridge and freezer side could use another shelf each. THE BAD: The rollers under the refrigerator are not heights adjustable even though some of the documentation shows adjustment screws, not his one. I used wooden wedges in the back to adjust height so that it would no lean too much back. I know some is required so that the doors close. Speaking about door closing. There is this goofy cam closure at the bottom of each door that makes a creaking sound every time the door closes. The lower drawer on the refrigerator side is extremely difficult to remove and thread back into the guides. I do that every morning and it reminds me how badly designed this thing is. There is no deli drawer on the refrigerator side and you can't buy one from GE. On the freezer side there is only a skimpy wire basket without sides at the bottom. On the GE website in the detailed picture for this model they show a nice basket with sides, going all the way back. I tried to buy one from GE and they told me that they don't have one for this model. (You should not show the picture on your website then.) The water dispenser is tricky. If you move your container normally away water will spill onto the tray and down the front of the door. We have learned to remove our glasses slowly and before they are filled fully to avoid this. Lastly, the on-line documentation covers multiple models and you can't really tell what is applicable to your specific model. OVERAL: I gave a 3 star rating because there are many distracting niggle things that could have been dealt with at the design and packaging stage. If we wouldn't have had space limitations, I would have bought another product. GE can do better!

So far loving it! The lighting is really great they have additional lighting half way down the fridge near the outside - helps seeing the lower shelves! Cleaner lines on the inside than my older one (same type). Only thing could have been better - keeping the deli drawer. But I bought a bin for cheese and lunch meats. But would have been nice to still have a deli drawer.

The fridge itself looks nice, it runs pretty loud compared to the very old refrigerator we had. Additionally, we have never received the proper shown baskets with our freezer (which was a selling point for us). Every CS representative said they would be sending us out the correct basket for this unit and we received all the wrong items. We are not happy with that and the delivery folks screw up our brand new home door, floor and the darn fridge.

Extremely happy with this refrig. We replaced an LG that had a failed water and ice dispenser. You couldn™€™t work on it because the wiring diagrams were unreadable and i couldn™€™t find any on line. The compressor failed so that was the end. I researched refrigerators and we went to four appliance centers to see the units first hand. We liked this GE model because of the clean look, adjustable shelves, the fact it came in white was a big one since we have other white appliances, the water and ice dispenser is perfect and a big one for me is you can get at the ice maker if it needs to be worked on. The reason for 4 stars is we would have liked a 31™€ wide model that would have fit the exiting space. Our house was built in 1929 and the standard opening seems to be around 30-31™€ for that era. I ordered on line from Home Depot and they were prompt to deliver it and put it in the space. I noticed a handle had a hairline crack on it that appeared to have been touched up. I was afraid the crack would expand over time so i called Home Depot and they got a hold of GE and within minutes a new handle was ordered out which was super easy to install. That™€™s what i call great service!

First side by side. Wanted bottom freezer but everything backordered for long time. This was a replacement; first one did not work. Home Depot/GE replaced right away; within the week. Makes more noise than previous frig's. Door shelf fell off with milk containers in them. Shelves locking design could be better. Hopefully this lasts longer than the LG it replaced; only 5 years old.

We needed a white fridge about 33 inches wide to go with our kitchen. Preferred side by side over French doors b/c with the French doors you have to bend down to use freezer and everything ends up on top of each other rather than at mostly eye lever and shelves for the side by side. Considered the similar Whirlpool but the GE is much better. We had to have a carpenter cut about 1/4 inc off the bottom of the cabinet above to make it fit. The fridge has lots of space in the fridge and freezer sides. Many adjustable shelves options in fridge. Great lighting, quiet, and the icemaker/water on door works fine.

Well worth the 4-month backorder wait. This refrigerator is extremely quiet as we can't ever hear it running except when it dumps ice. The ice maker started dumping ice 4 hours after everything was plugged in and then every hour until it filled the bin. So far, the ice maker is keeping up with our heavy ice use. The 33™€ size fits snuggly into the opening our kitchen has. The interior lighting is excellent. Would definitely recommend.

LOVE IT!!! Quiet, fridge stays cold, freezer keeps frozen! Wasn't too sure about the fact it is "Made In Mexico", but it has been non-problematic for the 1st month and a half. Only 1 thing which I feel could have been prevented: We were getting ieces of Styrofoam in our ice for awhile. Apparently the installers neglected to remove some packing, and I couldn't spot where it may have been coming from. There were loose pieces AND pieces in the cubes. I highly recommend this fridge for those looking for a 33 inch! I must add, ice and water: Clean, fresh taste!

We love this refrigerator! It has great use of space inside. It is nice and quiet compared to our last Whirlpool unit. That thing sounded like a plane taking off at times. This ice maker design is so much better than the other one. What's not to like! Would not hesitate to purchase this GE model again.

Not bad but missing basic features

Would give it a higher rating but it needs some extras. Needs locking wheels, it rolls like crazy on hardwood floor. Needs more than 1 light in the freezer and a smaller automatic ice maker storage bin to allow more freezer room. More than 1 light in the freezer and a second storage wire bin for the small freezer would be a bonus.

My first side by side, and water/ice dispenser

Plenty on space. Freezer is more convenient for us. Shelves allow for easy recognition of food items (not piled on top of one another). Lighting excellent. Door storage bins large enough for gallon milk. The compressor makes more noise than what I am used to, but minor at best.

I am happy with this side by side refrig except for the shelving. I had to buy online for an emergency so couldn't see the inside of it. I had a hard time putting the shelves in as the instructions sucked. Also, their is no middle "meat" tray.
